It’s been almost a decade since Australia last welcomed American rock band Good Charlotte where they previously rocked out at the Riverstage. Tonight, they’re going bigger in Brisbane at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre, with a stacked support lineup of Yellowcard and Aussie acts Kisschasy and Parker, who I’m excited to see for the first time tonight!
This is what happened at Parker and Kisschasy’s sets at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre on February 19th, 2026.
PARKER

First up tonight was singer-songwriter Parker. The Gold Coast teen has been making music since he was 14, when he first caught the attention of tonight’s headline act. Now making good on their promise to take Parker on tour when he graduates, the young musician is showcasing his dreamy rock music across the country. His tracks encapsulate all the messy contradictions of growing up - wanting to make something for yourself and the people you love Right Where We Are, yet yearning to go Somewhere Far to discover yourself. With insightful lyrics and a fun, free rock n’ roll sound, I’m excited to see more of Parker soon!

KISSCHASY

Before jumping into our international guests tonight, homegrown rock royalty Kisschasy graced the stage to treat us to some of their new and old hits. The band, featuring Darren Cordeux (vocals), Joel Vanderuit (bass), Sean Thomas (guitar) and Karl Ammitzboll (drums), is celebrating the release of their newest album, The Terrors of Comfort, using their set to showcase some of their latest tracks. They jumped on stage with a throwback to their earlier singles: This Bed, Face Without A Name and Do-Do’s & Woah-Oh’s. These songs, with a nostalgic flair and a healthy dose of angst, kick off an excellent set that’ll remind you why Kisschasy has been held in high regard in the Aussie rock scene for over twenty years now.
The contrast of these hyped up, angry OG songs contrasts nicely with one of their recent releases, Lie To Me. While exploring the same themes of relationship turmoil, it takes a more vulnerable approach without compromising on an unapologetic rock sound. The Perfect Way To Meet has a bittersweet will-they-or-won’t-they romance to it before the band launches back into the headbanger Strings And Drums. After winding us up, the band stripped the set back completely, leaving Cordeaux to kick off the emo track Dinosaurs with just his voice and guitar.
This gave room for the actual vulnerability that comes with sharing new music with a crowd for the first time, as Kisschasy reunited for a rendition of their latest single, Better. It’s a great glimpse of what’s to come for the band along with The Terrors of Comfort! But of course, they had to end on a couple of their biggest hits, wrapping up the set with Spray On Pants and Opinions Won’t Keep You Warm At Night, which anyone whose dipped a toe into the Aus rock scene will recognise and fall back in love with, especially if they get the chance to see those songs performed live for a packed entertainment centre, who are cheering as loudly for Kisschasy as they will for the main act later! Hopefully, this paves the way for some more shows soon (and wouldn’t it be great to see Parker opening for them again?)!
